Tilda Of Sweden

OH MY GOODNESS.................where has the time gone??? well i have had a very busy few weeks and I still have a very busy few weeks to come!!! I have though been able to make a couple of cards, in the middle of creating for the design team and partying for the jubilee!! I hope you like her Tilda of sweden done in the up and coming scandinavian style (vintage to you and me!!!).

I have stamped her and her wagon onto watercolour card in black stazon I have then coloured her in with my beloved distress inks.

Then I cut out a 6x6 shape on my grand calibur and mat and layered patterned papers over the top.

I embellished the card using lace (my favourite at the minute!!!) several die cuts and my very favourite of all time.............flowers!!!

I attatched a fairytale tag to the top of the card and printed off my own made sentiment which i also distressed. I accented my card with liquid pearls.

I have a new love for colouring in with distress inks and I am totally addicted to them!! I just seem to be able to create much more depth with the inks than with pens.

DESIGN TEAM CARDS- MIMIC PICK OF THE WEEK

Hello!!!!! I hope you all like the pick of the week!!! as I said yesterday I was lucky enough to have been given the chance to play with this and design some cards from the show!!! I can now share with you all my cards that I designed!!

Ok, so having read some of peoples thoughts on the create and craft facebook page there is alot of mixed views about this disk!!! All I can say is give it a chance you won't regret it. When I received this kit I thought oh my... what am i going to do with this, but when I started playing with it all my apprehension disappeared!! It isn't my usual kind of card design (as you can see from my other samples!!) but you know what it is sometimes a great thing to give yourself a challenge and think outside of your usual crafty box!! I for one will now be doing this more often as I was so impressed with the art work and all the tools that you can use to make your project unique to you!!!
I am usually a stamper (after spending hundreds and a bit more... on lots of other crafting goodies!!!) I decided that that's what I loved to do. Usually my cd's only now come out when I need to do a quick card, for the men or when you cant get the stamp of the image I want to use, with this cd having line drawn images I could still be as creative as I would usually be using my stamps and colouring with promarkers and my polychromos and best of all I could make the papers to suit my card!!!!

Well done to everyone on the design team, there are some fabulous samples and I am really proud to be part of the team!!!

Birthday Card

My Latest Card Made to Order!!
So..... I'm very excited about the pick of the week launch tomorrow and I hope I can spot some of my cards that I have designed for the show.My sky plus is set to record!!!

Anyways, I thought I would share with you another of my cards that I have lovingly created. This one was for a birthday.
I used a lili of the valley stamp and coloured it with my polychromos, Iused stickles on the dress to make it stand out a little.
I used a lili of the valley sentiment and made a bow out of gingham ribbon.
I then mat and layered my card with a gingham and rose paper, i then layered on die cuts and a piece of lace across the centre of the card.
I used a pink chalk ink to go round the edge of the doily, swirl die cut and around my sentiment.

I then added flowers, made some hatpins and punched out some pieces to make an arrangement around the sentiment and coloured these pink and green.

I loved making this card so much!!! i coordinated the inside with a verse and mat and layered with the same papers.

Cant wait to see all the lovel cards everyone has made tomorrow!!!!

Saturday 24 March 2012

My first sepia card!! probably not the best picture ever taken ( I myself was quite impressed with the card) it doesnt seem to pick up all the subtle rose colours in the paper and the feathers in the bottom corner.
Again I handmade the hat pins and rosettes in the picture. I really enjoyed colouring this image in using distress ink (and yes again it was my very favourite wait for it.........vintage photo!!!) and a water brush I was really pleased with the result and for the first time EVER I have used my labels 16 as a stencil for distressing!! and I was well impressed. I have used a vintage style button as an embellishment for behind the bouquet of roses and rosettes, again flowers and rosettes have all been distressed (and I'm not going to even mention the colour I used).
I have also stamped and coloured another image and I will be posting the finished card on here soon.
Evening everyone!!! ok so here we have another of my cards that I have recently created. Using LOTV stamp and wild orchid craft flowers. I seem to have become obsessed with adding flowers and embeliishments on to the front of the cards!!

My First Shared Card!!!

Morning all!! I thought I would share with you this morning one of the mothers day cards I created this year.

I started by colouring in my stamped image with promarkers and cutting it out with labels 17, then I distressed the image with vintage photo. I used cheery lynn and doo hickey dies and cut them out then distressed these again with vintage photo and added pearls to the centre of the flowers.
I handmade all the rosettes on the card with lace pieces in white and blue and embellished the centre with a button. I also handmade the hat pins with a selection of amber coloured buttons and pearls.
I distressed a piece of coordinating lace to make a bow and used a piece as a ribbon on the background of the card. I added pearl sprays and punched pieces as leaves which again I distressed.
For the inside of the card I used the same papers as the front to mat and layer I then took a piece of white card and punched along the bottom edge, I then distressed it again with my favourite vintage photo!!!

In the last few months I have totally changed direction with my "craftiness" I now try to make alot of my embellishments by hand that way I can coordinate everything exactly to how I want it. I love making bespoke cards that use lots of my crafting skills.
Anyway I hope you like my first card that I have published!!!
